San Diego is an amazing place in the Fall, it’s my favorite time of year!

One thing I love is dining outside, and last night I had an excellent time at SOLTAN BANOO, on Park Boulevard at Adams in University Heights (about 10 minutes from the Old Town Inn). Ask at the front desk for directions. The fare is Persian and the food is great and authentic. I enjoyed the pomegranate soup, the goat cheese salad and a Pom cocktail (think Cosmopolitan) and I finished it all off with a Turkish coffee and some baklava…YUM!

Traveling with the family?

Kids Free Days at the San Diego Zoo! Through October 31. During the month of October, children (ages 3–11) enjoy FREE admission to the San Diego Zoo!

The famous Boo! Parade is coming! San Diego’s only Halloween parade, don’t miss it! This is a funky, hometown sort of parade with a carnival afterwards. Check online for updated information and directions, 10 miles from the Old Town Inn.

And when you’re all done…Visit Gelato Vero Caffe for authentic Italian Gelato and the best coffee in town. Views of San Diego Bay form the upstairs deck and some of San Diego’s best take out joints on the same block. Corner of Washington and India streets just 2 miles from the hotel!
